Wedding Singer in West Yorkshire Daniel East

Wedding Singer West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire weddings take their character from the land around them: honey-coloured stone, old textile mills given a second life and Pennine hills rising behind the reception windows. I’m Daniel East, a West Yorkshire wedding singer bringing live wedding music to ceremonies, drinks receptions and evening parties from Wakefield and Halifax to Keighley, Huddersfield and the Calder Valley. Stone walls and high beamed ceilings change how sound travels, so I tune each performance to the building as well as the running order. A hushed ceremony in a Jacobean hall, an easy drinks set in a walled garden, a lively night in a mill conversion: each gets its own approach, shaped to your West Yorkshire wedding from the first song.

five star review

We booked Dan and his band for our wedding in August, and we are so glad we did! They were all amazing and kept the party going all night. Dan performed an acoustic set after the wedding breakfast whilst the band were setting up, and it was the perfect way to transition guests from evening to night. Dan and his band also learnt our first dance song, and lots of other requests sent through ahead of the day. Communication was brilliant! The set list was great, but they also listened to requests and engaged with the audience, letting us have a go on the mic. I honestly can’t recommend them enough. They made our evening so memorable, and we had so many comments from guests about how brilliant they were. Thank you, guys!! Victoria Griffiths

Ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening party

No two parts of a West Yorkshire wedding ask the same thing of the music. In the ceremony, a single voice with guitar can fill a stone-walled room without pushing, so I keep things gentle and let the acoustics help, whether you’re marrying in a chapel below the moors or a register office in the heart of Wakefield. Outside for drinks, the songs turn relaxed and familiar, pitched so guests can still chat across a courtyard or lawn. While you eat, I settle into the background and time the quieter moments around the speeches. Then, once the tables are cleared, the tempo climbs, the singalongs start, and the room gets properly involved, carrying everyone from the vows to the last song without a flat spot in between.

Drinks Reception

For your West Yorkshire wedding drinks reception, easy acoustic songs keep the mood sociable while photos are taken, glasses are topped up and guests catch up in the garden or courtyard.

Wedding Breakfast

For your West Yorkshire wedding breakfast, I pull the set right back, so the music warms the room between courses and steps aside neatly whenever the speeches and toasts begin.

Wedding Ceremony

For your West Yorkshire wedding ceremony, I shape live vocals around the moments you’ll remember, from your entrance to signing the register, pitched for echoing stonework or a snug hotel suite.

Evening Reception

Once the evening guests arrive, my West Yorkshire wedding singer sets pick up the pace with big choruses, requests and plenty of interaction, getting feet moving early.

Wedding Band West Yorkshire

If a solo set feels a little light for your guest list but a full band feels like too much, Buster Moons Boys sits neatly in between. It’s my acoustic duo for weddings, with me on lead vocals and Rob on piano, and that piano warmth suits West Yorkshire’s grand old halls and open mill spaces particularly well. We’re a natural fit for drinks receptions and wedding breakfast entertainment, and we keep the energy going into the evening, scaling the sound for anything from an intimate Halifax dining room to a lakeside suite outside Wakefield.

Wedding Singer FAQs

Can we hear you before booking?

Of course. My videos are the easiest way to judge the voice, the song choices and the way a room reacts. Once you’ve had a watch, drop me your date and your West Yorkshire venue, and I’ll suggest which parts of the day live music would add the most to.

For wedding entertainment in West Yorkshire, get in touch

How far in advance should we book?

As early as you comfortably can. Summer Saturdays for a West Yorkshire wedding tend to go first, especially at the country house and mill venues around Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield, with bank holiday weekends close behind. Dates do open up, though, so if yours is only a few months away, it’s still well worth asking.

Can you perform outside as my acoustic wedding singer?

Outdoor live wedding music can be lovely at a West Yorkshire wedding, whether that’s a walled garden, a courtyard or a lawn looking out to the hills. Pennine weather has a mind of its own, and wind on higher ground can pick up quickly, so please keep a gazebo, veranda or sheltered corner of the terrace free to keep my kit dry. A power point close by and a level, clearly defined space are the only other things I ask for.

Do you bring your own equipment and does it require any special electrics?

Yes, I bring everything: PA, microphones, instruments and cabling, scaled to your room and the part of the day I’m covering. Older West Yorkshire wedding venues can have thick stone walls, listed interiors and few sockets, so I’ll go through the practical details with you or your coordinator in advance. All my kit is insured and PAT certified, and ordinary sockets are usually all it needs. If the venue wants copies of those certificates, I’ll send them over once you’ve booked.

Hire wedding entertainment in West Yorkshire

What’s the minimum and maximum time we can hire you for?

Live music at West Yorkshire weddings is booked as 2 x 45-minute or 2 x 60-minute sets. Both can run back-to-back, say through drinks and the meal, or you can split them, with a gentle daytime set and a livelier one once the evening guests arrive. I can also keep background music playing between and after sets, so the room never falls silent.

How would you describe your wedding singing style?

Warm, familiar and built for a mixed crowd. My West Yorkshire sets blend acoustic classics, modern favourites and proper singalong songs that work for grandparents and teenagers alike. I watch how guests respond and adjust as I go, keeping things mellow while the day is young and turning it up as the celebration builds.

Can you learn our first dance or ceremony song?

In most cases, yes. With some notice, I’ll learn the song that matters to you and arrange it for a live acoustic performance at your West Yorkshire wedding. Occasionally a track leans too heavily on studio production to work that way, and if so I’ll be honest and suggest something with the same feeling.

Can you help me choose the music for our first dance or father-daughter dance?

Yes. If you book me for your West Yorkshire evening celebration entertainment, I’ll perform your first dance, father-daughter dance or both. Send the songs across at least 4 to 6 weeks ahead, with a sense of how you’d like the moment to feel, and I’ll build a live acoustic version that sounds natural and personal.

What information do you need from us, and how does everything work on the day?

When you enquire about a West Yorkshire wedding singer, the first things I need are your date, your venue and the moments you’d like music for: ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast, evening celebration or a mix. I’ll then confirm whether I’m free, recommend the setup that suits your plans and send clear pricing. Once you decide to go ahead, everything is confirmed in writing.

Closer to the day, we go through the practical side together, including arrival and set times, loading access and any quirks of the building, so the music slots in without fuss. West Yorkshire wedding venues are wonderfully varied, from restored mills in the Calder and Colne valleys to Jacobean manors near Halifax, Victorian country houses outside Huddersfield and lakeside hotels near Wakefield. Knowing the layout in advance lets me plan where to set up, how guests will move and when each set should start. If you’d rather talk it all through, songs and requests included, I’m always happy to arrange a call.

On the day, I arrive with my own professional sound system, insured and PAT certified, and set it all up myself. All a venue usually has to offer is a sensible spot to play and a couple of ordinary sockets. Some historic buildings in West Yorkshire have sound limiters or strict supplier rules, so it helps to mention these early.

Playing outside is a treat wherever there’s a garden, courtyard or ceremony lawn to use. Rain and hill winds can roll in quickly here, so the equipment still needs cover, and we’ll agree a clear indoor alternative before the day.

A wedding day rarely runs to the minute. The photographer needs another ten minutes, the best man finds a second wind, the room takes longer to turn around. I build that flexibility in, moving sets where needed so the music follows the day rather than the clock. However your West Yorkshire wedding unfolds, the live music should feel like it belongs there.

Book Daniel as your wedding singer in West Yorkshire

What are some popular wedding venues in West Yorkshire?

West Yorkshire’s wedding venues reflect its history as much as its scenery. Holdsworth House, a Jacobean manor on the edge of Halifax, has walled gardens and a colonnaded courtyard made for summer ceremonies. Near Wakefield, Georgian Walton Hall sits on its own island in a 26-acre lake, reached by an iron footbridge, while East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley pairs a 17th-century National Trust manor with a beamed barn.

Bagden Hall near Huddersfield adds 40 acres of lakeside grounds, and the Pennine towns of Hebden Bridge, Holmfirth and Ilkley, plus the model mill village of Saltaire, bring their own character, so no two weddings I play here sound alike. A stone barn carries sound naturally, while a modern hotel suite needs a fuller setup, so I adjust volume, songs and style to each space, from a soft ceremony set to a packed dance floor.

Live Wedding Music Across West Yorkshire

From the Wharfe Valley around Ilkley and Otley to the moorland edges above Holmfirth, West Yorkshire packs a remarkable range of wedding settings into a small area. A converted mill with iron columns and lofty ceilings behaves nothing like a panelled dining room or a marquee on open farmland, so my setup changes with the space. Marrying in the city? My wedding singer in Leeds page covers city venues, and there’s more on my Yorkshire wedding singer page. Tell me your venue and which moments you’d like music for, and I’ll recommend what suits your West Yorkshire wedding.
